Twenty five years ago this month, Genesis Studios was founded. At the time, the name was CQTV–founded by the late Ray Christy and a snot-nosed kid just out of college named Cliff Springs (Genesis CEO). After Ray’s passing, Cliff Springs changed the name to Genesis in 2003. If there’s one constant (other than Cliff) in the constantly changing life of Genesis, it’s creative growth. Our clients learned that they could depend on us, and that trust led them to involve us in an expanding array of services all nestled under one giant studio roof today.
While the personnel at Genesis has changed from time to time, the core sensibilities of our hardworking, creative goofballs never do. We enjoy what we do and insist that everyone who works with us has fun as well.
The two most common things we hear at Genesis are: “Wow, I didn’t know we had a place like this in S.C.” (when someone tours the studio for the first time) and “You are the most fun, efficient crew I’ve ever worked with!” When you hear those same comments over and over, it means we do our job well AND it means we may have been too humble over the years when it comes to tooting our own horns. Well, we’re tooting now!
We believe the best is yet to come. Some big projects are on the horizon that we are excited to share with you at the appropriate time.
In the meantime, give us a call. We’d love to work with you, and we KNOW you’ll love working with us!
The next episode of The Trunk will be finished soon–and it’s the best yet! In the meantime, we’re proud to note that one of our two lead actors, Bill Oberst, Jr., was listed on IMDB as one of the Top 10 Cult Character Actors. He’s got a long list of credits and a loyal fan following for all the creepy roles he plays–and was absolutely awesome to work with! You’ll see how great he is when the next episode debuts. HINT: We may drop 2 or 3 episodes at once so you can do a little binge watching!

Well the 7th Annual Meatfest has come and gone. Our yearly BYOM cookout was delicious on all accounts, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to be outside. Steaks, bacon and cheese hamburgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, mac and cheese, potato salad, cookies, cupcakes, and cheesecake (thank you, Shae!).
Unfortunately, this year we were so busy stuffing our faces that we failed to appropriately capture the grandeur via photos. Trust us, it was gooooood.
We have revamped the cyc lighting in Studio A to be fully fluorescent. We have smoother lighting, uses less power, won’t cook you under the hot lights, and is prelighted and ready to go! Special thanks to Landry Layson for his expert guidance!
GenCreative.com is all-new! We started from the ground up and revamped our message and our presentation for the website. Yes, the cobbler’s kids had no shoes. The last 5 years have each successively become our best year ever, and frankly, we spent so much time making our clients successful, that our own website had to take a back seat.
But we aren’t complaining. Being that busy helping our clients succeed is a blessing, and it has enabled us to acquire a lot of new gear so that we can constantly take our services to another level.
We opted for simpler, cleaner design, more photos, more videos, and a clear cut message of what we do: Marketing, Production, Web, and Entertainment. Although that has pretty much summed us up for quite some time, we were just too occupied helping our clients to slow down long enough to give our own marketing a little TLC. And when you’ve been at nearly full capacity for as long as we have, marketing can afford to wait.
Enjoy the new site. Call us if we can be of service.
